New Starters at Nafferton
Transitioning into this first year at school is important not only for your child, but also for you as parents/carers. Therefore, we aim to ease the transition by inviting you into school on a number of occasions, offering a combination of ‘meet the team’ evenings and daytime activity sessions for the children. The following events will take place:
- Nursery and pre-school visits: these visits provide us with the perfect opportunity to see your child/ren within an environment which they feel comfortable in and enable us to begin to establish a rapport with them.
- Stay and Play: these sessions will take place at school to provide children and parents with the opportunity to experience the Foundation environment.
- The New Starter’s Lunch & Meet & Greet: an opportunity to meet other children and parents in your child’s year, experience our cook, Mrs Robinson’s finest cuisine and play games on the school field.
- New Starter Parent Meeting: a meeting which takes place after school which enables you to gain an understanding of the Early Years Curriculum, our school values and a chance to ask any questions. During this meeting you will also have the opportunity to meet the Foundation Stage team and talk to parents who also have children starting in Foundation for the upcoming year. You will also be able to collect your child’s school pack and meet their class teacher.
